Introduction
Search Profiles are a core feature of Veriwise, designed to help you efficiently search through a large number of interesting companies and their shares. You interact with a chat-based interface , similar to known LLMs. You can enter your search criteria as a natural language prompt, and the system will return relevant companies based on your query. The prompts you enter into the system are translated into queries, which are then executed on a query engine. This approach ensures that every execution is deterministic, meaning the results are consistent each time a search is applied, unless the underlying data changes. Due to this architecture we do not have the problem of hallucination. You can refine and modify your search iteratively within the chat.
Each Search Profile allows you to fine-tune your queries dynamically, ensuring that results exactly match your expectations. Veriwise also provides explanations for how it interprets your query, helping you understand its reasoning. Your search history is saved, allowing you to revisit and adjust previous queries as needed.
To get accurate results, be as specific as possible when describing your search criteria. For example:
- Prompt: "Give me all medium-sized companies."
- System Interpretation: Companies with a market capitalization , between 2 billion and 10 billion dollars.
If this is not what you intended, refine your search:
- Prompt: "Give me all medium-sized companies, by employees."
- System Interpretation: Companies that have between 1,000 and 5,000 employees.
Being precise prevents unintended results and ensures the search provides relevant data. If a query cannot be processed, the system will notify you, and you can adjust your prompt or contact support for assistance.
Understanding Search Execution vs. Regeneration
Re-executing a search always yields the same results unless the dataset changes. Regenerating a search can produce different results for the same input because the system might generate a new interpretation each time.
For example, the query:
- "Give me all companies with a price drop of at least 15%."
Lacks details like:
- Which price? Open/close price?
- Timeframe? Last week, last month?
- Reference point? Before or after the drop?
Without these details, results may vary with each regeneration. A precise query like:
- "Give me all companies with a price drop of at least 15% in the last 2 days, based on the minimum price."
reduces ambiguity and produces more reliable results.
Available Data
All data available on the Ticker subsite (https://app.veriwise.io/stockdatabase) can be utilized in your search profiles. However, it is important to note that the search profiles do not have access to the internet or external data sources. We are actively working on integrating news data to enhance the breadth of information available for searching. The search profiles currently have access to daily pricing changes in the stock market. This allows you to create filters based on daily price movements and trends. If you require more detailed data, such as price changes with up to 15-minute granularity, please contact us via email. We can provide additional information and support for accessing more granular data.
Example Queries
Here are some useful prompts to get started:
- Give me all companies that have lost at least 10% of their market capitalization in the last two weeks, but had an average trading volume of over 1 million shares per day, in the last six months.
- Give me all companies with a P/E ratio below 5, but with annual sales growth of at least 10% over the last three years and a return on equity above 15.
- Give me all companies that are located in the same country as Apple (AAPL), have a market capitalization of over USD 50 billion and have achieved a profit increase of at least 20% in the last quarter compared to the previous quarter.
- Give me all companies that have doubled their share price since 2021, but are currently trading at least 15% below their all-time high and have an average daily volatility of less than 2%.
You can refine and combine prompts to fit your needs. If results seem unexpected, adjust your prompt accordingly.
Best Practices
To get the best results from Veriwise, follow these best practices:
- Use English. Other languages are not supported and may lead to errors.
- Be specific. The clearer your criteria, the better the results.
- Iterate your queries. If results aren’t as expected, refine and re-run.
- Be precise with string searches. For example, Veriwise searches for "United States," not "US." We are improving this, but accuracy is key.
By following these guidelines, you’ll get better and more consistent results in Veriwise.
