Data Sources and Availability

At Veriwise, we prioritize the accuracy and reliability of the data we provide to our users. Currently, we source our data from a reputable commercial data provider. Given the vast number of publicly listed companies, we have chosen to focus on a select group of companies to ensure the quality and consistency of the information available on our platform.

Focus on U.S. Companies​

Our primary focus is on U.S. companies, as the United States represents one of the largest and most dynamic markets in the world. Specifically, we gather data from two major stock exchanges:

  • NASDAQ
  • New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)

These exchanges are known for their significant trading volumes and the presence of many well-established companies.

Selection Criteria​

To maintain the integrity of our data, we have implemented specific criteria for the companies included in our database:

  • We only include companies that are publicly traded and we have enough data about them.
  • Companies with extremely low trading volumes or those that are not easily tradable have been excluded from our dataset.

Data Availability​

Stock Price Data​

  • Daily Updates: We provide comprehensive stock price data, including:
    • High, low, open, and close prices
    • Trading volume
  • Update Frequency: This data is updated hourly to reflect the most current market conditions.

  • Update Frequency: Dividend data is updated daily.

  • Available Metrics: A range of key financial metrics is available for each company, including:
    • Market Capitalization
    • Enterprise Value
    • Additional financial ratios and indicators
  • Update Frequency: These metrics are also updated daily and can be viewed in each company's profile.

Limitations​

While we strive to provide comprehensive data, there are some limitations to be aware of:

  • Data Availability: Not all data points may be available for every stock. For example, information on stock splits may not be present if a company has not undergone any splits.
  • Currency Exchange Calculations: Currently, we do not support currency exchange calculations. All data is presented in U.S. dollars.
  • Exclusion of ETFs and Similar Instruments: Our platform focuses solely on individual stocks. As a result, we do not provide data on Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) or similar investment vehicles. Therefore, comparisons with indices such as the MSCI World Index are not possible at this time.
